Choose the system type you want to download like Desktop, Embedded/Mobile, Enterprise, LiveCD, Popular Distributions and Security Enhanced.
This would lead to the page, where all the top download sites are listed (http://www.linux.com/directory/Distributions/Desktop).
Choose the website from which you want to download, for example, we can get the Ubuntu distribution from the official website (http://www.ubuntu.com/).
Select the edition you want to download. For example, if you want to download for your personal computer, you can choose the ‘Desktop Edition’.
Click on ‘Get Ubuntu’ to get to the download page.
Click on ‘Download Now’ to start downloading.
This would prompt your computer with a popup window that would ask you to save the file.
Click on ‘Save File’ to save the program to your desired drive or location.
You may be prompted to purchase a CD based on the edition you require for a nominal amount.
