How to Download and Print Check Stubs

The term check stubs refer to that part of the check which is kept for purposes of keeping and maintaining records. When the check stubs are associated with paychecks, these parts include information about your current paycheck with the date of payment. Some companies even provide employees with online check stub that appears like a carbon copy of the original paycheck. Now-a-days, most of the companies avoid the usage of paper and do not issue hard copies of the paychecks to the employees. The employees are required to sign up for a direct deposit into his bank account and receive online pay stubs as part of their online payroll account. So an employee has to download the online checks stubs to his personal computer to maintain a backup or take printouts. However, the options to download and print the check stubs differ based on the payroll system and software used by your employer.

When an employee opts for the direct deposit payments facilities, he is provided with a unique payroll account. He is also provided with a set of login credentials, i.e., user name and password to login into and access his ePay account or online payroll account. Log in to your personal payroll account by entering your login credentials. If you are not aware of the login credentials to access your personal account in the employer’s payroll system, you can contact your employer to get the login information. Enter your user name and password in the respective form and follow the required procedure to sign in to your online payroll account.

After signing in to the personal payroll account, you can see a list of check stubs arranged in a chronological order. Select the specific check stubs that you want to download and print. You can now see a pop up window asking whether you want to download the check stubs onto your local computer or just open from its original location. If you want to download the online check stub select the Save option. On the other hand, select the Open option to open the check stub from its current location without downloading to your local drives. However, the displayed options differ from one payroll system to another. There are a number of payroll systems that open the check stubs in form of a web page. Based on the payroll system implemented by your employer, you have to choose the respective options to download or open the online check stub.

The printing options also differ from one payroll system to another. Some payroll software allow user to print the online check stubs by clicking on the Print button or link appearing on the web page. On the other hand, some systems also do not offer any specific option to print the check stubs and the user has to print the documents by selecting the Print option from the File menu of the webpage. So you have to identify the exact procedure to print the check stub downloaded to your computer or the check stub from its current online location.
