How to Do Mod Makeup
Mod makeup is a technique to have a retro look of the 60’. People use this technique to feel like transporting themselves back in time by few decades. The style has also become a part of the collections from a number of modern fashion designers. This is also one of the methods to get you a look with a touch of high-drama. You can easily do a mod makeup yourself by using makeup products like a normal foundation, powder, and concealer. Your eyes will get the desired look with the usage of an eye shadow, eyeliner and mascara.
Instructions
- Start applying the makeup by applying the foundation, concealer and powder just like other techniques. Before applying the foundation, you have to ensure that your face is properly clean. If you feel that your skin is a bit dry, use some mild lotion and get your skin moisturized. Blend the concealer all over your face by using your finger tips. The beauty ingredient will help in hiding your pimples, blemishes, and scares.
- Apply foundation makeup all over your face with a cotton pad or large brush. Select a foundation with a light color to blend perfectly with your skin. After finishing with the foundation, you can enhance the look by adding blush with lighter shades.
- After finishing with your face, you have to concentrate on your eyes to give them the desired retro look. Use a shimmery white eye pencil to highlight the portion coming just under your eyebrow. While highlighting, follow the pencil on the full eyebrow and complete its entire length. Use your finger and blend the white line to hide the liner from being revealed. You can use the liner in the middle to get a thick crescent shape. Keep both your eyes shut till the product has not dried up completely.
- Now use an eye shadow of soft peach color and apply over each eyelid till it touches the white. Use a black pencil and draw a lash line. Foe enhancing the 60’ makeup style, you can use lash on the bottom line.
- Apply black mascara to both your top and bottom eyelashes. For a deep look, you can apply two coats of the mascara. But you have to allow time for the first coat of mascara to dry, before applying the second coat of mascara.
- Now blend some pink blush on each of the cheek at above the cheekbones with a blush brush.
- Finally, you can apply the makeup on your lips with a lipstick with pale link. While applying the foundation on your face, you can put some of it on your lips. The mod makeup requires the use of a lipstick with pale lip color which is a bit lighter than your normal color. To make the lipstick shine, add a lip gloss on top of the lipstick layer.
- To get the exact look of the 60’, along with this makeup wear a short skirt, Mary Janes, or a geometric-print shirt. Now you will look as if you are coming to the present age straight from the 60”.
