How to Design Your Own T Shirt

Designing your own t shirt can be a fun affair. You only need a laser printer , an iron, freezer paper, some fabric and the design you will be ultimately working on. You can find a design as well as a slogan to print on the t shirt which will spread the message among your friends. There are domestic laser printers available which can print the image or the slogan with the help of the permanent inks in the toner cartridge. You have to send the fabric required for making the t shirt through the printer so that the image and slogans are printed on it, without damaging the printer in any way.

This method can be used to print onto synthetic or organic fabrics after washing and drying them well. First find out the size of the printer and the area where the image is to be printed. The image should be of the right size for the printer to accommodate it.
You will need a piece of freezer paper which will be about ½ inch larger than the size of your fabric.
Then you have to iron the shiny side of the freezer paper on top of the fabric. Before that, set the heat setting of the iron to suit the material of the fabric you are using.
After the ironing is done, allow the paper and fabric to cool down. It will now be completely stiff. You can re-iron it otherwise. You may have to trim the fabric with the use of a pair of scissors.
Keep the stiffened fabric in the paper tray of the laser printer and send the image you want to print from the PC to the printer. It is advisable to try out the process of printing onto paper before making the final print on the fabric. This will help you to adjust the position and the darkness of the print.
An hour will be enough for the design to cool and get permanently stuck to the fabric of your t shirt.
It is better to allow a week to go by before you wash the fabric. If the fabric is made of cotton or denim the prints will last longer. If you wash the fabric regularly, then it may cause the print to fade.
Hand washing is preferable to machine washing. This will also let your prints to last longer.
