Following steps are suggested:

Cleanse your hair with a good shampoo so that the solution for perm is completely absorbed.
Divide the strands of hair into three parts. They are kept separated by securing it with the perming clips.
Roll your hair with the help of perming rods. This will keep your hair in position when applying the perming solution.
Apply moisturizer to your hands and face in order to protect them. You need to wear gloves while handling the perming lotion.
Perming solution is applied all over the rods and you have to make sure that every part of the hair is being covered with it. The rods have to be saturated with the perming solution.
Wear processing cap. The time required for the entire process will be 15-20min depending on the type of hair
Wash your hair with cold water without removing the rods.
Neutralizer is applied for 5-10 minutes on your hair to retain its chemical structure.
Remove the rods after the required time is over.
Put some more neutralizers before the last wash to check that all the strands have received it.
Wash your hair properly with cold water so that no trace of chemicals has been left.
Let your hair dry. You should not wash your hair with shampoo for at least for two days to achieve a long lasting effect.
