So if you can learn how to cut scene hair at home, you can always do it whenever you want and make the experience a little more exciting by styling it in different ways.
- You will need a good quality light and sharp scissors, a razor, and 2 mirrors to see the front and the back, and a protective covering for your arms.
- It is easier to start from the bottom layers and then proceed to the top. The layers at the top can be pinned up to help you work on the lower layers. You can keep the bottom layers as long as you wish. It can be quite short too depending on your requirements.
- The first step involves washing your hair clean with a good shampoo. Since it is much more helpful to cut wet hair, you can refrain from allowing it to dry completely. But remember to keep the hair a bit longer while cutting because it will become wavy and look shorter as it dries up.
- Take a thin strand and cut it after considering how long you want to keep it. Then catch hold of another strand and cut to same length. Proceeding in this manner, you can cut the entire bottom layer to the same length.
- Then take some more hair, about 1 cm wide, from the amount you had clipped in on the top of your head. Cut the entire layer of hair of one length, but a little
shorter than the bottom most layer. - Proceed in this manner to add a few more layers of hair until you are completely done. The mirror at the back will keep telling you that you are on the right track.
- After you are done with cutting the bottom layers, it is time to take a look at the hair on top of your head. This is the most important part as it will let you sport a particular look.
- The top layers need to have a short and messy look. The length of the hair can be up to the chin with a short fringe in front.
- Take a single strand, and chop with a razor this time. Hold the razor in such a way that you can cut it delicately down the length of your hair. Layer the hair on top so that it is thicker at the top and thinner at the ends. Do the same with all the hair on top of your head.
- To fashion the fringe, use the razor to layer the hair after parting it wherever you want to. The length can be kept to the cheekbones if you want your fringe to remain at the side. Use the razor to layer it.
- Use different shades and lengths to give you the look that you desire. You can check the styles portrayed by the style icons for scene hair. After you are done, tidy yourself and dry your hair and set it with a hair dryer.
