So the business account has very limited access to the information posted on the site. A user with a business account can view all the Pages and Social Ads that they have created, however they will not be able to view the profiles of users on the site or other content on the site that does not live on the Pages they administer. Further, unlike a personal account, the individual cannot send or receive friend requests and also will not be displayed as part of the search results.
- You can create a Facebook page for your business only if you are the official representative of the specific organization, business, or company. As per the Facebook guidelines, only an official representative can create and manage a page on the social network to represent his organization on the social network.
- Type in the URL “http://www.facebook.com/pages/create.php” in the address bar and press the Enter key to access the page which will allow you to create a Facebook page for your business.
- Check out the “Create a Page for a:” form appearing at the right hand side of the page. Click on the radio button with label local businesses and you can see a dropdown list containing a list of businesses and industry type to choose from. Select a value matching with your nature of business/industry, and enter the name of your organization in the text box shown in the form. Get the checkbox selected which ask you to confirm your legal status as an official representative. Click on the “Create Official Page” button to proceed with creating a page.
- You will be shown with a dialog box displaying the warning, “Please proceed only if you are an official representative of the organization. Creating an unauthorized Page violates our Statement of Rights and Responsibilities. If you violate any of our terms or policies in any way, we may remove you as a Page administrator and remove the Page.” Click on the “Create Page” option if you satisfy the exact criteria set by Facebook.
- Now the business page is created on Facebook and you can do some of the additional activities like, add an image, invite your friends, tell your fans, post status updates, promote this Page on your website, and set up your mobile phone.
