How to Cook Tuna Steaks


Tuna steaks are considered as a great substitute for other seafood or beef steaks. The major attraction in cooking tuna steaks is that it can be served in various styles and varieties.   1. Firstly, decide whether you want to grill your tuna steak or pan-sear it. Although both of the processes enhance the taste of the steak, but still if you are grilling it you need to be sure that it is on high heat.
  2. Finalize on the flavors. Tuna steaks taste best with Asian ingredients like teriyaki or sesame but if you want to settle down on a simple marinade then it is best to go for garlic, ginger, soy sauce, teriyaki and a little bit of sesame oil/seeds.
  3. Preheat the grill to a high temperature if you are grilling the tuna steak. Remember to oil the tuna or the grill before putting it on. Tuna steaks can also be cooked in charcoal grill. If you are using that then you can cook tuna steaks over a preheated grate on direct heat or cook it directly over a charcoal chimney.
  4. In case you are deciding to pan-sear your tuna steak then you just need to follow the same instructions as grilling, but this time with a hot pan. Just preheat the pan and add oil when it is hot or else you can oil the steak itself.
