Ingredients
- Steaks or chops about 25mm thick, as per your choice
- Salt, pepper, garlic salt, and other spices
- Cooking oil
- Water and lemon juice
Steps
- Wash the steak properly before use. Dry it and puncture the meat with a fork. Make sure that you stab the meat from all the sides. This will make channels the ends of which will spread with seasoning when you rub it and the channels will be filled up with the juices of the meat. Sprinkle some salt and pepper to the meat and rub it all over the steak.
- Now take a frying pan and pour some cooking oil to it. You may even go for butter. Allow the oil to heat up in the pan till medium hot. Place the meat into the pan and cover it with a lid. Leave it for a minute and then remove it from heat. Wait till the sizzling stops. Now remove the lid and flip the meat over with a spatula. Once again cover the pan with the lid and leave it on heat for few minutes.

- Remove the lid once again and now add some garlic, salt and other spices of your choice to the meat. Also add some lemon juice and water to the cooking dish. Cover the pan and allow the meat to cook for another ten minutes. Make sure that you flip the meat while cooking to ensure it is properly cooked on all the sides. Once the meat if fully cooked, remove the lid and allow it to cool.
- You may also garnish your steak dish with different ingredients to enhance its flavor.
There are some essential tips that one must keep in mind while cooking steak. They are:
- Always allow your steak to reach room-temperature prior to cooking. Remove your steak from the refrigerator an hour prior to cooking. If the steak is cold it will take longer time to cook.
- Season your steak to add to its natural flavor. Go for ingredients that will complement the flavor of the meat, rather than mask it.
- While cooking, do not touch your steak other than to turn it. If you keep touching the meat frequently it will lose it s flavor and desired texture.
- Allow your steak to rest for few minutes after cooking. If you cut a still-hot steak, a substantial amount of its internal moisture will escape in the form of steam and tangible juice.
- It is always better to cut your steak across the grain. If you cut the steak with the grain, it will be tougher to chew than it will be if you cut across the grain.
