How to Cook Kale Green How to Cook Kale GreenKale green is a vegetable which belongs to the mustard family. It contains low calorie and has very high contents of minerals like manganese, iron, copper, magnesium etc. It also has vitamins like A, E, K and C. Apart from these, it has anti oxidizing properties which is very good for your skin to reduce the aging factor and it lowers the risk of cancer. So over all kale is a complete healthy food. Including kales to your daily menu for twice or thrice a week is sufficient to keep you healthy.

Cooking Procedure:

  1. The very first step is to collect the necessary ingredients that are required to make the dish which include Fresh green kale, Onion (one), Garlic 50 gm, Ginger 50 gm, Tomato (one), Salt, Chilly (if you prefer hot), Olive oil or any other edible oil which you prefer, Frying pan, Pressure cooker and knife to cut the vegetables.
  2. Wash the green kales nicely. Uncooked kales can be kept in the freezer as they stay fresh for many days.
  3. Grade them nicely or cut them into your preferred sizes.
  4. While cutting the kales make sure you cut and remove the centre stalk. It is necessary to remove the center stalk because it is difficult to chew.
  5. Now take the pressure cooker and put the graded kales into it and boil it for few minutes at low flame.
  6. While we leave the kale to boil, we need to chop the onion and chilly finely.
  7. Wash the ginger and garlic and peel their outer layer and grind them to make a mixed paste of ginger and garlic.
  8. Now take out the frying pan and put some olive oil, or any other edible oil which you prefer. Allow the oil to get heated for few minutes.
  9. When the oil in the pan gets heated, add chopped chilly and onion into it and fry them. When the frying onion appears to be brown put the garlic ginger paste into it and stir the mixture by adding little bit of water into it. Keep the mixture stirring and make it little drier.
  10. Now it’s time to add the boiled kale into the mixture prepared. Put the graded boiled kale with the mixture prepared and stir it well.
  11. Cover the pan and allow the food to be cooked at low flame for few minutes. At regular interval uncover the pan and stir it to avoid burning of kale.

Now the green kales are ready to be served hot.

Serving tips:

  1. Take out the required amount of cooked kale in a serving bowl, garnish it with coriander leaves.
  2. Sprinkle few mint leaves over the green kale in the bowl.
  3. You can even add some boiled beans with kale which will enhance the taste of the green kale.
  4. While cooking add some amount of turmeric which will bring nice color to the kale curry.
  5. While boiling the kale put few seeds of cardamom in it with the pressure cooker which will provide a nice aroma to the cooked kale.
