Your stairs get the most use of any part of your deck and if you use steel railings you don&#039;t have to worry about people getting splinters in their hand as they walk up or down the stairs.And remember to keep in mind how you are going to use the space under your deck.  Underdecking allws for a dry space for storage or even public entertainment if high enough.James
