Now the gables have to be built up one side at a time till the purl in height is reached. You have to continue the gables building till you reach the height of the main center roof support. As this is the highest portion of the cabin, one can set the ridge pole onto the gables at this particular time. However make sure that the logs are supported by shims, ropes and poles while securing them.
The roof has to be framed out by using prepared lumber. You can use plywood as the underside of the roof and then install tin sheeting above it. You can now set up all the other components of the cabin like windows, chimney, stairs etc.
