How to Build a Door
Any house is incomplete without a door. Be it a barn, a shed, a farm or a room a door makes it complete and safe. Doors are readily available or can be made at home with a little effort.
Therefore if you want to build a door the most important thing to do is to first create a blueprint and consider where you will be using the door. An entrance door to your house can be decorative, while the door to the barn can be made with pieces of wood.
To build your own doors you will need a piece of wood, a saw, drill machine, knobs, latches and door locks, peep hole, screwdriver, screws, nails, adhesive, a chisel, saw and wood shaver.
Once you know where you will need the door, start making the blue print. Take the size and shape into consideration. This will help you buy wood in the right quantity.
Buy wood and get it cleaned. A whole piece is always better. Now according to the shape you desire give it a shape or keep it a rectangle. A semi circle like shape over the top can also be built by shaving the wood in that particular shape.
Once you have given it shape make arrangement for hinges. Put markings over the place where you want the hinges. Make place for hinges with a chisel. Now fit hinges with screws and a screw driver.
If you want you can drill a thick hole for a peep hole or keep an opening and later attach iron grills for a better view.
Now shave off rough edges. Use sand paper to smoothen the door. Use wood varnish or paint over it. You can even use designer laminates over it.
Now fit the door into the wall. Next fit 
the doorknobs, locks and a safety chain in your door. Your door is complete.
If you desire to create two doors you will have to divide the measurements and build two pieces of doors measuring the same with a latch in the centre and top.
Folding doors
Some people like folding doors. For folding door all you need to do fix two doors with hinges in the centre, smooth enough to fold in the centre and be put back
Sliding doors
Sliding doors are even more simpler to build. A single piece of wood that is well shaven, polished, painted, laminated or varnished is to be fit on aluminium bars above and below. Sometimes an aluminium bar with valves on top also woks well. However that keeps the door more rickety with no support at the bottom. A sliding door can also work just well with aluminium bars above and below with no wheels.
Doors for the window
Windows are other openings in your home walls that require good doors. You can follow the same method of building doors for your window. Only the sizes will differ. You can have two windows. You can build folding windows or you can even have large sliding French windows. It all depends upon your preference and choice of interiors.
