How to Build a Barbeque
There are a variety of barbeque grills and mechanism available in the market. But a barbeque that you build on your own will make your barbeque time more fun and tasty.
Building a barbeque is a simple task. You will need a little material with which you can shape your very own barbeque. Work out the size of your barbeque before you begin any work. It is better to create a blueprint of your barbeque before you get set to work. Always choose solid ground to build your barbeque.
Choose a corner of your garden or yard or a space where you would like build your barbeque. Buy some good bricks and soak them in water for at least twenty four hours. Now create a base for your barbeque with cement and a bit of gravel. Create a square shape, it is easier to build.
How to make mortar
- Buy a pack of cement
- Buy some gravel
- Put both in a vessel
- Add required water
- Mix well
- Keep in mind that the mixture must not be too thick or very watery. Keep it just thick enough to be picked with a spatula.
- Now begin making the layer of bricks and cement at the borders on all four sides. Now keep increasing the height with the same layer.

- Make a space at the bottom by making a layer over for storing the skewers and equipment. Now plaster the exterior and interior with cement. Smoothen out rough edges by scraping off extra mortar.
- Take exact measurements for how deep you would want your barbeque to be and make a layer of bricks and cement below. Keep a small vent to let air pass through.
- Always work with a general height that anyone can comfortably use the barbeque. Allow the mortar and cement to dry well before you start to use your barbeque. If you want you can tile the barbeque on the exterior to give it a neat look.
- Get some skewers for your barbeque time. Store coal in the space you created at the bottom of the barbeque. Keep barbeque equipments handy by inserting at determined heights to arrange things.
- Spray your barbeque with ample water till a day or two and let it dry in the hot sun to make it sturdy and strong. Once this is done, you are ready to throw a barbeque party and enjoy the yummy coal treat.
