style="text-align: justify;">
1-Liter, 2-liter, or 3-liter Bottle. This bottle can be a left over beverage bottle, or you can also buy a brand new bottle for it.

A pitcher, for preparing Kool aid.

A Funnel for pouring the kool aid into the bottle.

Buy a pouch of Kool aid mix, or if you want it every day, buy a Kool aid pack. Kool aid comes in gel form and powder form. Choose the one which is easy to prepare and tasty to drink. The cost of Kool aid pack comes out to be somewhere 30 cent to $1.

Sugar to add sweetness to the Kool aid. Generally, the pack or pouch of Kool aid doesn’t have artificial sugars in it, and therefore, you need to put extra sugar from outside.

Measuring Cup is used for scoop purpose, and for measuring the quantity of Kool aid which is to be poured in the tumbler or glass.

Cold refrigerated water, or get normal tap water and later add ice cubes in it.

<p

Do not use any uneven surface for making Kool aid; or it will pour out of the container when you are mixing.

Pour 2 quarts cold water into the pitcher container. You can adjust the quantity of water as per your needs and requirements. If the requirement is for more, you can add more water to the pitcher.

Next, add cup full of sugar in the pitcher. Remember, this quantity of sugar is only permissible for 2 quarts cold water. If you are increasing the quantity of water, increase the sugar quantity as well. If you are diabetic, use less sugar, or add equal quantity of sugar free preparation.

Add Kool aid from the pouch or packet in the pitcher, and slowly and gradually mix it, until the mixture is completely ready.

At last, serve your Kool aid in the glass. Most people in these countries have at least one meal consisting of rice in any given day. Rice can be cooked in many ways. It can just be cooked plain or many spices can be added to it along with vegetables to add a completely different taste to it. A plate of plain rice can be accompanied by a delectable curry to make the meal a really enjoyable one. Rice is easy to cook if you follow the strict instructions. Basically, it needs the right proportion of rice grains and water to be cooked for the right amount of time to get properly cooked rice which is neither sticky or watery but dry and soft. Let us find out how to make rice in a very easy way.

Depending on whether the rice is fresh or has been preserved for a few months, you will need different quantities of water. If the uncooked rice is fresh, then you will need double the quantity of water than the rice. As the rice ages, you will need more water for making the rice. In fact, it is all about practice. You can experiment the first time with 2 parts water to 1 part rice and if you are not successful, you can change the quantity of water used.

There are many varieties of rice available in the market. They can vary from being coarse to really fine variety with a really heavenly smell. If you want to eat good quality rice, you need to buy the long grained and sweet smelling kind of rice. Measure 1 cup rice and 2 cups water.

Place the water to boil in the stove. When it starts boiling, wash the rice thoroughly and pour it into the boiling water. The time taken for the water to boil will depend on the amount of rice you want to cook and the water taken. 2 cups water should take about 5 minutes to boil. For cooking large quantities, you will have to wait longer.

After you put in the rice, cover the pot and lower the flame. Adjust the flame so that the water and rice keep boiling and yet the water does not boil so drastically as to drip out of the pot. The water should be enough so that the rice cooks well without the bottom getting burnt. If the water starts to lessen and the rice is still not cooked, then lower the flame still further and make sure that the rice does not stick to the bottom or get burnt. It should take about 20 minutes for the rice to get cooked. Again, depending on the quality of rice, it might take less or more time.

Check to see if the water has completely been used up by the rice. If you tilt the pot a little, you can see if there is any water in the bottom or all has been used up. If you feel the rice in your hands now, it should feel soft and there should not be any moisture clinging to it.

Leave the rice covered and switch off the stove. After allowing it to stand for 10 minutes, ruffle up the contents. This will get rid of any remaining moisture. The rice will now be white and fluffy and soft to eat.

Now serve the rice along with your favorite curry and enjoy the meal.

Making rice is easy once you get to know the right amount of water and the cooking time for a particular amount of rice grains. You can cook different kinds of curries along with the rice and enjoy the meal every time.

Learn more about:
The domestic turkey is a descendant of the Wild Turkey and features prominently in the menu of the U.S. and Canadian holidays of Thanksgiving and that of Christmas in many countries. Thanksgiving or Thanksgiving Day is a harvest festival celebrated primarily in the United States and Canada. Traditionally, Thanksgiving is associated with giving thanks to God for the harvest and expressing gratitude. While historically religious in origin, Thanksgiving is now primarily identified as a secular holiday. Turkey dishes are associated with almost all cultures and it is liked by all and sundry. The grilled or roasted turkey has always remained as favorite for the masses. Still the perfect turkey dish is always incomplete without the perfect gravy. Therefore the turkey dish must necessarily contain turkey gravy. Further the turkey gravy is very easy to make and can be made from the dripping of the turkey pan. Moreover turkeys are generally safe for consumption process and are free from diseases and other vectors. The key ingredient for better turkey gravy is the good quality dripping from the roasting pan. So follow the steps given below to make great turkey gravy easily at home.
Step # 1: The first basic step is to collect the necessary items required to make the turkey gravy. The items required are very easily available and even can be purchased from the local groceries. The items required are drippings from a roasted turkey, turkey stock, six tablespoons of flour, the regular groceries, wire whisks, roasting pan, wooden spoons, one quart measuring cup and gravy boats.
Step # 2: The dripping is first strained to remove the small uncooked meat particles and other impurities. Then it is skimmed to remove the excess fat. The process of skimming can be done manually or by the help of an electronic skimmer. Then the dripping is poured into a beaker that can contain about one quart of the solution. Generally a well calibrated beaker is recommended for the above process.
Step # 3: The mixture is then left for the decantation process so that the excess fat still left out rises to the top. It is then removed with the help of a spoon.
Step # 4: Four cups of turkey stocks are added to quart of turkey drippings. Then the roasting pan is set to medium low heat.
Step # 5: Then a mixture of six tablespoon of the reserved fat and flour is put in the roasting pan and heavily whisked. The fat and flour mix is whisked for duration of at least five minutes such that it turns golden brown in color.
Step # 6: The rest of the drippings and stock mixture is then poured in to the roasting pan and simmered. During the process of simmering the mixture is whisked until the gravy reaches the desired thickness.
Step # 7: Season the gravy with salt and pepper to taste and serve it in a gravy boat.
Voila! Finally your turkey gravy is ready.
<p

Chocolate sauce is another very good form of chocolate. When you decide to make chocolate sauce, you must choose chocolate which has a lot of cocoa in it. This will give you really tasty and rich sauce. Although it is difficult to believe, dark chocolate is best for making sauce. Once it is made into sauce, the bitter taste is completely eliminated and you get great sauce. There are many other ingredients besides chocolate which are used to make sauce. Let us learn how to make chocolate sauce in a very easy method.

The ingredients used for making chocolate sauce can vary a bit but the sauce is equally tasty every time. The main ingredients used in this recipe are dark chocolate, water, butter, cream, sugar and vanilla essence. You can vary the ingredients a bit by using castor sugar instead of the regular sugar. You can also use cocoa powder and milk instead of dark chocolate.

Take 150 ml water and 4 tbsp of sugar in a pan and heat it to mix them well. Keep stirring and applying heat until the entire sugar melts.

Now you have to add 200 gms of dark chocolate and 50 gms of butter. Break up the pieces of the hard chocolate and butter so that you can easily put them inside the sugar solution. Keep stirring the solution.

Remove from heat and keep on mixing until the chocolate and butter pieces have completely blended with the sugar solution. You should get a uniform mixture.

Now add 6 tbsp of cream and ½ tsp of vanilla essence. Again stir well so that you get a thick, creamy, flowing mixture.

The hot chocolate sauce is now ready to be served.

You can use 2 cups milk, 2tbsp of corn flour and 5 tbsp of cocoa powder instead of dark chocolate. But if you are very particular about the tastes of dark chocolate, then make sure that you don’t apply too much heat when you are cooking the chocolate pieces or else you will get a burnt taste in your mouth. The beautiful flavor of the chocolate sauce will be totally lost.

If you want to vary your taste, then you can add brandy instead of vanilla essence. In fact, you can experiment a lot with similar recipes to get different varieties of chocolate sauce for different occasions.

<p

Salting and preserving meat items have always been practiced since many centuries. The main advantage of drying the meat is that you can add your own creativity to the flavor of the jerky. Jerky can be made out of literally any meat whether fish, beef, chicken, pork or mutton. The homemade ones are particularly the very delicious ones. The simplest part is that it can be made to dry in the oven in just four to five hours. Jerky is not at all complicated as it seems. Follow the easy steps given below to make homemade and delicious jerky.
Step # 1: The very basic step is to collect the ingredients necessary for the dish. The ingredients required to make jerky are two-third cup of Worcestershire sauce, two-third cup of soy sauce, one teaspoon of black pepper, one teaspoon of garlic powder and one teaspoon of onion powder. The optional ingredients that may be use are one teaspoon of liquid smoke, two-third teaspoon of Tabasco sauce, two-third teaspoon of crushed red peppers and two-third teaspoon of sesame seeds.
Step # 2: The jerky to be made starts with at least three pounds of meat but gradually reduces to twenty ounces after the whole process is over. If you are choosing beef as the base for jerky then use the London Broil. If turkey is used as an alternative then the breast piece is highly recommended. Fish jerky is very tough to make.
Step # 3: Cut the beef in to very thin slices so that they can be cooked well. If fish is used then make it half frozen so that it can be easily cut into pieces.
Step # 4: Mix all Marinade items together in a large plastic bag. Put the meat inside it and place it in an aluminum foil. The meat is then drained to a colander and is patted dry with paper towels.
Step # 5: The oven is then set to minimum temperature possible and the meat is then kept on the oven racks. The door of the oven is kept a little open to let the moisture content of the meat to escape out.
Step # 6: The time taken for the jerky to dry out depends largely on the amount of the moisture content, the salinity in the meet, the oven conditions and lastly the ambient temperature conditions.
Step # 7: If the jerky is to be made out of ground meet then care must be taken to see that the meat is perfectly grounded. The use of meat grinder or food processors is highly recommended for the purpose. A little amount of salt is added is extra in this case. Use a rolling pin to flatten the odd ends of the jerky. The jerky is to be flattened to at least two inches for perfect firmness. After the drying process is over rub the turkey with some additional amount of pepper and liquid smoke.
Voila! You finally made your own homemade version of jerky.
<p

As kids we all love to celebrate our birthdays in our own fancy styles. The main element of a birthday party is to have a visually appealing and mouth watering birthday cake. The use of fondant in cakes has made the cake more beautiful and tasty too. Fondant is basically an icing made out of gelatin, confectioners’ sugar and water. Fondant is very smooth and malleable icing that dries hard. Not for the amateur, this icing isn’t put on with a knife, but rather rolled to a uniform thickness and then laid over the cake. It can also be used for detail work such as making intricate flowers. A fondant-covered cake can be spotted by its rounded edges. While fondant looks to be quite complicated but rather it is very simple to make at home. All you need are the ingredients and the desire for a perfect cake. So follow the easy steps below to make fondant at home.
Step # 1: The first basic step is to collect the necessary ingredients required to make the fondant. The items required are one tablespoon of unflavored gelatin, one-fourth cup of cold water, one teaspoon of almond extract, half cup of light corn syrup, one tablespoon of glycerin, two pounds of 10X confectioners’ sugar and half teaspoon of white vegetable shortening.
Step # 2: Adjust the room temperature to a normal of twenty four degree Celsius. A little more or little less temperature is not favorable for the formation of the desired quality of fondant.
Step # 3: The next major decision is estimate the amount of fondant to be made. To be on the safe side always make fondant more than that is required. Don’t worry for the extra amount of fondant because it can be stored for later consumption or can be used for the extra decoration.
Step # 4: Gelatin is added to cold water and the mixture is left to rest for a few minutes. Then the mixture is placed in a microwave oven in high temperature for about thirty seconds for the gelatin to completely dissolve. Then the almond extract is added to the mixture.
Step # 5: Then the corn syrup and the glycerin are added to the mixture and is stirred properly and then placed in the microwave again for about thirty seconds to mingle well.
Step # 6: Then at least one and half pound of sugar is taken in large bowl and the liquid is poured in to it. The total mixture is stirred until the mixture turns sticky.
Step # 7: The fondant is then kneaded to make into smooth and pliable dough. The vegetable shortening is rubbed in the fingers during the kneading process. The resultant fondant is then wrapped in an air tight plastic to prevent drying out.
Now your fondant is finally ready and you can mould them to beautiful shapes.

Watch a video instruction on how to make fondant

Step # 5: The beef is then roasted up to two and half hours or until the thermo meter shows the calibration point of fifty five degree Celsius. The beef is then out and left to stand for five to ten minutes in foil.
Step # 6: The next step is the preparation of Horseradish cream. The ingredients necessary to prepare it are half cup of sour cream, two table spoons of prepared horse radish, two teaspoons of chopped shallots and one teaspoon of white balsamic or white wine vinegar salt. Then all the items are mixed together and then refrigerated.
Step # 7: The step is the preparation of Au Jus juice. The ingredients necessary to prepare it are one and half cup of the pan drippings from the roast, three fourth cup of red wine, two cups of beef stock, three tablespoons of unsalted butter and salted and freshly prepared grounded pepper.
Step # 8: First the drippings from the pan are well strained the fat from it is skimmed out. The dripping is then heated in frying pan and stirred by adding red wine. The whole mixture is heated until the quantity reduces to one-third. Then the heat is withdrawn and butter, salt and pepper are added.
Finally the delicious prime rib roast is ready.
<p

You can easily make wine at home, but making fruit wine can be an experience which you will love to keep repeating to enjoy both the process of making wine and the flavor of home made wine. You can use many types of fruits for making wine although grapes are the universal choice. If you really want delicious wine, then you have to be very particular about the equipment and the ingredients you use for making wine. Follow the guidelines and you will learn how to make fruit wine in a very short time.

Equipment:

Sanitizer
Glass jug with screw cap
Graduated pitcher
2 five-gallon buckets having lid with holes (primary fermentor)
2 five-gallon plastic carboys (secondary fermentor)
Plastic spoon with long handle
Siphon hose
Hydrometer set
Floating thermometer
Straining bags
Fruit crusher
Wine bottles with caps

Ingredients:

24 lbs of crushed blackberries
13 lbs of sugar
2 tsp of yeast nutrient
2 tsp of pectic enzyme
6 quarts of fresh hot water
8 quarts of fresh cold water
8 crushed campden tablets
1 package of Narbonne wine yeast
¼ tsp sulphite crystals
Bentonite finings
10 ounces of wine conditioner

Procedure:

Clean all the equipment thoroughly with a sanitizing fluid so that it has no lingering smell and all the germs are destroyed.

The choice of fruits for the wine depends on you. Any type of fruit will serve the purpose. If you want to buy the juice directly from the market then make sure that it is fresh and has no preservatives. Fresh juice produces good quality wine. Here, we will consider blackberries for wine making.

Put the crushed blackberries, hot water and sugar in the primary fermentor and keep stirring to dissolve the sugar. Then add the pectic enzyme, campden tablets and Narbonne wine yeast to the mixture and stir again. Introduce the floating thermometer and see if the temperature has reached 75 degrees F.

Add the yeast nutrient to a cup of warm water, allow to stand for 10 minutes and then add to the wine mixture. Cover the fermentor and place it in a place which has a constant temperature of 75 degrees F.

Uncover and check the wine after 24 hours. You will notice that bubbles have formed on top. Remember to stir 2 times in each day.

After 2 days have passed, find out the specific gravity of the wine mixture. Keep checking every two days until the specific gravity reaches 1.02. Now it is time to separate the fruit floating on top from the clear liquid. You can throw away the pulp.

Now pour the clear liquid into a clean carboy and add 1 cup of cold water to it. Again cover the carboy properly and keep at a temperature of 65 degrees F.

Keep checking the specific gravity and you will notice that after about 10 days, the specific gravity will read 1.00. Then pour the liquid into another clean carboy.

The finings can be added along with some cold water. Keep it this way for another 10 days. Then filter the solution into another clean carboy.

Now it is time to add the sulphite crystals. Dissolve in a little water and add to the wine solution. Add some cold water to the carboy too.

You can keep aside the solution for about 2 months. Then add the wine conditioner allowing it to mix well in the solution. Pour the wine into bottles and allow it to age for about 4 months. Your wine is ready for use.

Your friends will be delighted when they visit you and have a sip of this home made fruit wine. The compliments you receive will make you feel that all your efforts were not in vain.

Watch a video instruction on how to make fruit wine
<p

Often pasta is the best to serve dish for the small hunger crunches during the evening breaks. Although it’s a lot easier to buy pasta from the departmental store, still making pasta at home has its own charm. Making pasta at home involves a lot of fun and the best thing about it is that you don’t need a lot of things to make it. Moreover you can make your own customizations like framing the pasta in to any shape you like and you can make those rare and complicated flavors which are very hard to find in the local market. You don’t even require a pasta making machine for it, all you need is just a rolling pin. So just follow the easy steps given below to make pasta from scratch.
Step # 1: The very basic step is to collect the necessary ingredients required to make the pasta at home. All you need are two cups of plain flour, two eggs, two tablespoons of olive oil and finally a pinch of salt to taste.
Step # 2: Then on a clean surface spread the flour. Then make a slight hollow in between. In the hollow add olive oil and small amount of salt.
Step # 3: Then the eggs are beaten inside the hollow. Then the mixture is gradually whisked by either a fork or a beater. Keep caution while whisking to prevent the spilling of the egg yolk from the edges. The whisking is then done manually by hand until the mixture become totally homogeneous.
Step # 4: The dough is then manually kneaded until it becomes perfectly glossy because sticky dough doesn’t produce good quality pasta. Add a little amount of flour if necessary. The more the dough is kneaded the better it becomes to work with. The dough is then left to rest for about twenty minutes.
Step # 5: The dough is then divided into parts so that it becomes easy to handle, leaving behind the other parts while you get on with your work.
Step # 6: Then on a very neat and clean surface start rolling the dough. The dough can be rolled into any shape. The rectangular shape is recommended so as to ease the whole process. Then the very thin rolled piece is folded and again rolled. This process is repeated ten to twenty times so that the dough becomes malleable.
Step # 7: The dough is then rolled to make it as thin as possible. Making razor sharp thin dough is the key to delicious pasta. Apply a very small amount of olive oil to make the dough more malleable. It is then left on dry towel or tissue paper for about thirty minutes to season.
Step # 8: The pasta dough is then finally cut in to micro strips and left on the broomstick handles to dry. Finally the homemade pasta is ready to be cooked.
<p

These include mouth watering recipes in the kitchen which can give you great pleasure. Your family will love you for it. At the same time, there are some basic things you can make in the kitchen which can be used as it is and also to add a better taste to some other dishes. Feta cheese is one of them. Though it has its roots in the ancient culture, making feta cheese at home is not very difficult if you follow the process correctly. Make sure that you get the right ingredients and follow the timing pattern to help turn out your cheese well. Let us learn how to make feta cheese in a very easy way.

Ingredients:

1 gallon fresh goat’s milk or cow milk
1 tbsp fresh yogurt
½ tbsp rennet
Table salt

Procedure:

To make the feta cheese, you will need a pot which can store more than 1 gallon, its lid, 1 long bladed knife, strainer, cheese mold and 2 clean and sterile handkerchiefs.

Heat the milk till it reaches a temperature of 30 degrees C. Keep stirring so that the milk does not stick to the bottom of the pot. Then turn off the heat.

Mix the yogurt with an equal quantity of milk to make a fine mixture. Then add this mixture to the rest of the warmed milk to make a homogenous solution. Let the milk stand for about an hour after covering it.

In the meantime, mix ½ tbsp rennet in some cool water. Then add this rennet solution to the milk after it has been left covered for an hour. Mix thoroughly. This should now be covered again and left overnight for the process to be completed. Make sure that you leave the pot of milk at room temperature.

The milk will have set the next day. Check to see that the milk has set completely and cleanly breaks when pierced.

Cut this curd just as you would cut the cheese. Start from one side and cut into cubes. Each cube should be about ½ inch in size.

Wash your hands well and lift the curd cubes and then stir well. Do this for about 15 minutes until you feel that the curd has contracted.

Put a clean handkerchief on the strainer and separate the curds from the whey. Leave it for about 2-4 hours until the whey completely drains out.

Put the curd now in a bowl and mix about ½ tsp salt in it. After the curd breaks up, you can put them in cheese molds. Then take the can and place a clean handkerchief at its sides. Now put the curd inside and fold the ends of the handkerchief over the can and cover. Put a weight on top of it and don’t disturb the setting till the next day.

Now take the whey you had discarded (about 20 oz) and add 5 tbsp salt to it. Mix thoroughly and make sure that the brine is acidic n nature. This will help to form the cheese well.

Make 1.5 inch cubes of the cheese and place in another large jar. Pour the brine you just made over the cheese. Keep in the fridge and allow to pickle. You will get feta cheese which will be very dry and crumbly in nature. Remember to store in the fridge all the time. And when you want to use some of it, wash well to remove the salt.

You have made feta cheese in your home and can store it to be used many times in the future. It will certainly save you the problem of running to the store every time you need feta cheese.

Watch a video instruction on how to make feta cheese
<p
