You can buy special quality of cheese wax available in the market to coat the cheese. If you use some other quality wax like paraffin, it will crack during the cooling process and result in the development of a mold causing bacteria. The special quality cheese wax is more pliable and does not crack easily during the cooling process. So the cheese stored inside is not exposed to air and retains the natural moisture. When you are making cheese wax, it is important to remember that wax melts at a lower temperature. You must use the proper procedure to melt the wax and get the cheese coated with the wax.

Instructions

When you decide to wax the cheese to store and age, it is important to select the exact quality and type of cheese. Normally, the acidic, hard and dry cheeses can be waxed in a proper and exact manner. You need to prepare the cheese for waxing by cleaning, slightly cooling and drying the cheese round. Use a high quality paper towel or lint free cloth to completely dry the cheese blocks. You can further cut the cheese into pieces based on the requirement of your family members. When you cut the cheese into smaller sizes, you can use these without affecting the freshness of the aged cheese.

Add the cheese wax to a double boiler and place it on heat to melt. If you are using multiple colors of wax, you can consider using ceramic bowls or similar rust proof container that can be fitted on top of the double boiler during the heating process. Once the wax has melted and come to temperature, turn the heat off.

Quickly dip the dry block of cheese into the melted wax in a half way manner. Allow a few seconds to slightly dry the wax. Dip the remaining half of the cheese block to get the cheese block waxed completely. Now let the wax cool completely before setting the same on any type of surface. Also, avoid moving the cheese blocks as these can easily be pulled away from the wax.

Alternatively, you can get the cheese blocks coated with wax using a brush with natural bristles. Coat the cheese slabs with melted wax by using the smooth application and check that all types of holes and crevices are sealed with wax. This method is more effective in locking the natural moisture of the cheese and preventing the slabs from hardening and drying out. You need to repeat the waxing process for 3 to 4 times when the previous layer of wax has not dried out completely.

Now you can store the waxed cheese slabs in one of the coolest rooms of your house to age. Stack the slabs of waxed cheese slabs allowing proper air circulation. You should avoid using any additional container as the same many prevent the air circulation. The cheese will age over a period of time and provide you the desired taste.

Though fried foods like, fish, chicken, frying chips are still so popular, like other foods on a regular or exceptional basis, you will inevitably come across the dilemma of what to do with your waste cooking oil Dip frying foods often leaves behind cups of wastage oil. This cooking oil can be collected and reused in future by filtering and storing the oil as soon as it cools. Straining cooking oil removes a small bit of burnt foods and seasoning the same alters the flavor of the oil. This can be stored for several weeks and reused before discarded. A few useful steps are given below:

Clean the container inside

Wash inside and outside of a container and lid in hot water. Use some concentrated liquid wash dish and a sponge. Dry the cane or container entirely using a clean towel. Let it not be affecting the original flavor of the stored oil. Start avoiding the damaging of environment if trying to make it a fuel oil without the instructions of the experienced people.

Line up a ware mess and let it be cool

Line up a tiny ware mesh strainer with a piece of cheese cloth folded in middle. Lower the strainer in to the opening of the cane and let it dry completely. Allow the waste cooking oil to cool around a minimum 150 degree F before pouring it in to cheese clothes and in big metal cane. Move forward the narrow stream of slow pouring oil above the piece of cheese cloth for passing through clean sections of the cloth while other areas are dirty with strained food particles.

Lift the strainer above the cane

Lift the strainer above the cane to watch as the last few drops of waste cooking oil leak from the cheese cloth. Cover the cane with the lid tightly and move it to the coldest part of the refrigerator. This works as a fine inlet vent where cold air enters in to the refrigerator.

Filter the oil

Recover the waste oil from the refrigerator and reuse it until the flavor of the oil begins to taste as burnt. Filter the cooking oil after every use and keep storing for more than one week before throwing the waste oil. It is absolutely put you in dilemma what to do with waste cooking oil string it or dumping down it in to drain.

Avoid powder seasoning

Try to avoid using finely powdered seasonings in oil that you plan to reuse. The little particles will pass through the cheese cloth filter and remain in the oil. Instead of leaving seasonings and spices whole you can remove them easily. Make the seasoning process in proper manner without leaving behind a mark. You can easily and quickly clean and reuse cooking oil from a dip frying pan using a few basic items from the kitchen. Some cooking oil develops burnt flavor when it cleanse before each item. Simply filtering the oil removes major burnt particles that will eventually give a dark color and burnt flavor. Extend the durability of your used cooking oil to save the cost of your kitchen.

Learn more about:<ul

You can add a dash of sea salt in addition to some additional ingredients like honey. Transfer the seasoned pumpkin seed butter to a glass jar and store inside the refrigerator.

During the refrigeration process, the oil will be separated from the peanut seed butter. A number of bars and fast food restaurants also serve the dish as a delicious snack item. These deep-fried cheese curds are prepared a manner similar to the crispy onion rings. You can prepare a batter by using specific ingredients and cover the cheese curds completely with the batter to deep fry with hot vegetable oil.

Recipe I

2 cups of bread crumbs

2 teaspoons of cornstarch

1 teaspoon of ground cayenne pepper

1 tablespoon of chopped fresh thyme

1 cup of all-purpose flour

4 eggs, well beaten

1 pound of Wisconsin cheese curds, cut into 1″ to 1-½” wide

vegetable oil for deep frying

Instructions

Add the bread crumbs, cornstarch, ground cayenne pepper and chopped fresh thyme into a food processor. Combine all these ingredients and blend till the bread crumbs are finely grounded. Transfer the mixture onto a pie plate.

Place the beaten eggs and all-purpose flour respectively on a second and third pie plates. Scour the cheese curd first in the flour, then on the beaten eggs and finally on the bread crumb mixture.

Place the battered cheese curds on a baking sheer and place it inside the freezer for about 20 minutes.

Add the vegetable oil to a large pot or deep fryer in enough quantity to cover the cheese curds completely. Heat the vegetable oil at 365 to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Drop the battered cheese curds in batches into the hot oil and fry till the cheese curds turn crispy and warm from all sides.

Remove the deep fried cheese curds from the hot oil and place on paper towel to drain the excess oil. Season the deep fried cheese curds with salt and peeper and serve immediately.

Recipe II

Ingredients

vegetable oil

1 egg, beaten

1 tablespoon of vegetable oil

1 cup of milk or beer

1 cup of all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon of granulated sugar

1/4 teaspoon of salt

1 teaspoon of baking powder

1 (9-ounce) package of fresh cheese curds at room temperature

Instructions

Add the vegetable oil to a large pot or deep fryer in enough quantity to cover the cheese curds completely. Heat the vegetable oil at 375 degrees centigrade or 285 degrees Fahrenheit.

In the mean time combine the beaten egg, milk or beer and 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil by adding into a medium sized bowl. Blend the ingredients well and add the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, salt and baking powder. Mix these ingredients till you get a smooth mixer. Drop the cheese curds into the batter and use a spoon to turn the cheese curds till it is coated thoroughly with the batter.

Drop the coated curd into the hot vegetable oil by transferring a little at a time. Fry the coated cheese curd for about 1 minute or till the same turns brown and puffy. Keep turning the cheese curd during frying to fry all coated sides. But you have to ensure that the pieces are not overcooked as the curls will melt and ooze through the coating.

Remove the deep fried cheese curds from the hot oil and place on paper towel to drain the excess oil. You need to keep the environment clean where the birds live and also make sure that the food that they eat is free from mold or fungus. Most often you use bird feeders to place the bird food. But if you are not particular enough to notice if the bird has its food or if some particles of food are still left over, there are chances that mold will develop on the feeders and the remaining food. Also make sure that the seeds you give the bird is fresh and not moldy. Molds can be very dangerous for the birds as they lead to many diseases. Therefore, you should give clean food on clean bird feeders.

Bird feeders need to be cleaned once in a month. You must inspect the feeders before and after heavy rains. You must be sure that the seeds are dry for the birds to eat. If the feeders are getting affected by the rainfall, then you need to change its position. If you make sure that there is no moisture in the feeder, there is very little chance that molds will develop.

If the bird feeder is kept at a place where it is exposed to sun, rain and wind, you should be very careful when you place the food. Give a small amount initially and see how much time the birds take to finish the food. You can increase the amount slowly to see the amount which is necessary for the hens. Stop when you find that the food is remaining behind in the feeders. Also, you can keep shifting the place of keeping the feeder so that the bird droppings don’t accumulate too much in one place.

The feeders should be cleaned with hot water and soap. After rinsing the feeder with plain water, you can immerse it in a dilute bleaching solution. Again rinse with plain water and allow the feeder to dry completely. Clean your hands before and after cleaning the feeders.

You should never pile on food in the feeder and let the birds finish it over a period of time. There will be moisture in the feeder and food which will lead to mold development. If there is rain or snow, the food will also be wasted. It is much better if you can give the food at regular intervals throughout the day and clean the feeder if there is remaining food after a particular interval of time.

You might use a tube or a hopper feeder if you want the food to remain safe from inclement weather conditions. But these tube feeders also need to be cleaned regularly or they will gather mold. Dump the feeder to get rid of the uneaten food in it and then refill it with fresh food.

The basic principle behind keeping mold away from the bird feeders is cleanliness. You must keep an eye on giving fresh food to the birds and on cleaning the feeder regularly so that no molds develop on it. This will keep the birds healthy and happy.

Watch a video instruction on feeder fresh for a clean bird feeder

Recipe II

Ingredients

3 large white onions

oil for deep frying

3/4 cup of plain flour

1/4 cup of corn flour

1 tablespoon of rice flour

1/2 teaspoon of green chili paste

1 teaspoon of ginger-garlic paste

1/2 teaspoon of black pepper powder

1 tablespoon of hot oil

salt to taste

Instructions

Use a sharp knife and peel and slice the onions into rings of 1/3″ thick. Arrange the onion rings on a shallow tray and season by sprinkling with salt. Allow the onions to remain for about 15 minutes.

Separate the onion rings by keeping 2 to 3 rings intact and put these in side a bowl of ice water. Refrigerate the onion rings for about 20 minutes.

Now make a smooth mixture by combining plain, corn and rice flour, green chili and ginger-garlic paste, and black pepper powder. Refrigerate the batter for about 10 minutes.

In the mean time, drain the onion rings and place on a thick kitchen towel to pat dry.

Remove the batter from the refrigerator and add 1 tablespoon of hot oil. Mix the oil well with the refrigerated batter.

Add the cooking oil to a deep frying-pan and place it in stove to heat the oil. Reduce the heat once the oil looks smoky. Dip the onion rings individually in the batter and ensure that the onion slices are completely covered with the mixture.

Fry the onion rings till these turn golden in color and look crispy. Remove the onion rings from oil and drain the excess oil by soaking on a kitchen paper. Now the crispy onion rings are ready to be served with your favorite ketchup.

<div

But in most of the supermarkets, you can find nut butters made only from peanuts. But you can make butter at you home by using almonds with the crunchy or smooth texture and additives of your choice. A number of people also prefer the almond butter as a source of huge amount of protein and dietary Vitamin E. The vegetarians love to include the nut butter as a pert of their regular diet. As some laboratory tests have highlighted, the amount of protein contained in 2 tablespoons of almond butter equals the amount of protein contained in 1 ounce of lean meat. It will take only a few minutes to make the almond butter at your home and entertain your family members and guests by serving a variety of crackers and bread toasts and sandwiches. Further, the recipe used for making the almond butter can further be extended to prepare butter from other varieties of crispy nuts like cashews and peanuts.

Ingredients

2 cups crispy almonds

3/4 cup of coconut oil

2 tablespoons raw honey or maple syrup

1 teaspoon of sea salt

Instructions

Soak and dehydrate the almonds to prepare these as an ingredient to make butter. When you soak and dry the almonds, the fatty acids and other anti-nutrients elements contained by the crispy nuts are removed. Further, the almonds become more digestible after being soaked and dried before being processed to prepare the butter.

Some people even prefer to prepare the butter with roasted almonds. If you decide to use baked almonds, you can spread the crispy nuts on a shallow baking pan by forming a single layer. Bake the almonds at 400 degrees Fahrenheit or 200 degrees centigrade for about 8 minutes or till the nuts start turning light golden in color. However, based on your personal taste you can make the butter from raw as well as roasted almonds.

Place the prepared almonds and sea salt inside a food processor and grind to form a fine powder. Add the coconut oil and raw honey or maple syrup to the ground almonds. Process the ingredients till the butter becomes smooth.

When you prepare the almond butter, the same will not be completely hardened. You have to chill the liquid peanut butter to make it hard. Transfer the liquid peanut butter into an airtight container and store inside the refrigerator to harden. When it is time to serve, remove the peanut butter from refrigerator and serve at room temperature. You also have options to replace half of the coconut oil with untoasted sesame oil or pressed sunflower oil to keep the peanut butter less hard after the refrigeration process.

After making the homemade almond butter, you can serve the healthy and yummy dish with fruits. You can even make the delicious sandwich by using sliced breads, almond butter and banana.

<div

Beef nachos are very popular with everyone and you will love to have it as a snack with some cold beverages. Ground beef is usually used to make nachos and the preparation is not too difficult. Most people who love nachos also love to have the beef variation of the snack. The whole family can sit and enjoy the delicious snack.

Ingredients:

Ground beef

16 ounces Re-fried beans

½ cup Onions, chopped

½ cup Green bell pepper, chopped

8 ounces Tomato sauce

Grated cheese

Taco seasoning

Tortilla chips

Procedure:

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Take a large saucepan and heat some water in it. Put the ground beef in it and cook for some time. Cover and simmer on the stove. After a few minutes, take the lid off and add the re-fried beans, chopped bell pepper, tomato sauce and taco seasoning into the saucepan. Put the lid back on the saucepan and cook for 15 minutes on slow heat. Check to see if the ingredients are soft and cooked.

2. Take a casserole and spread the tortilla chips on the base of the casserole. Pour the beef mixture on the chips in the casserole. Again, sprinkle the grated cheese on top. Put the arrangement inside the oven and allow the cheese to melt and the flavour to penetrate through. The recipe is now ready to be served.

1st Variation:

You can try another variation of the same recipe. Here, you will need some jalapenos along with the rest of the ingredients. The cooking procedure is almost the same. The only change is that you will have to cook the beans separately. These cooked beans are placed first on the tortilla chips in the casserole. You can pour the beef mixture on top of it and then top it with grated cheese, chopped onions and sliced jalapeno. Since you will have to cook the beans separately, it will take a few more minutes to cook the recipe.

2nd Variation:

The recipe given on top describes how to make simple beef nachos. But you can also add several other ingredients to it to make it much tastier. For this, you will need, chopped lettuce, black olives, sour cream, green onions, tomatoes, enchilada seasoning, guacamole and a jar of salsa. You can also add some corn.

The procedure for making this variation of beef nachos is a bit different. You have to first brown the beef in a pot and when you can see the fat coming out from the beef, be ready to drain it away. Now put in the salsa, beans, and seasoning to the beef in the pot. Cook the mixture by covering the pot for 15 minutes. See if the beef and the other vegetables have softened.

Now you can follow the same procedure as before. Put the tortilla chips in the casserole and pour the beef mixture on it. Put the grated cheese on top and then heat inside the oven at 400 degrees. The nachos will be ready to eat.

There are many other variations you can try out with beef nachos. If you want, you can grate more cheese on the top and also make many layers in the casserole. It tastes quite delicious provided it is served hot.

Watch a video instruction on nachos with beef!!! – recipe request
<p
