  1. Saucepan, water bowl or a teapot.

Steps to follow

  1. Allow the wax to cool down absolutely. Put the stained clothing in the refrigerator for about half an hour so that it becomes completely hard. This is done because it is easy to take out all the wax easily. Nothing remains in the clothing.
  2. Next scrape off the wax with the butter knife or any other blunt knife so that the material does not tear off. While doing so, if the wax seems to become soft again, put it back into the freezer and let it harden again. You will see that it is easier to take off the wax when it is hard as the soft wax clings to the fabrics more. Then again go on scraping again to remove as much as possible.
  3. Now take your ironing board. Place the packaging paper or the brown paper bag on it.
  4. Place the clothing on the brown paper with the wax facing upwards. Now place another piece of brown paper on top of the wax and cover it with the dish towel.
  5. Now heat the iron appropriate for the material that is stained with wax. Steam iron is not required. Iron the portion of the cloth that has wax on it over the dish towel and the brown paper. What happens is, the wax melts and the brown paper absorbs it. The towel that is placed on top protects the brown paper from burning.
  6. Now place the material in a sink the stained part facing the sink. Boil water in the pan or teapot and pour over it to remove the remaining wax if any. Be careful to use the correct temperature of water so that the material is not spoilt.
  7. You can put the material in your washing machine to wash off the clothing using warm water.
  8. If there is still some wax clinging to the fabric you can repeat the ironing and rinsing process. Otherwise, you can put it in the dryer and feel relieved that your favorite clothing is as good as new.

The flesh of the abalone is consumed raw as well as cooked in a number of dishes. You have to clean the abalone for consuming its flesh. Cleaning an abalone is a simple yet time consuming process.

Instructions

  1. For cleaning the abalone you have to scrub it in the shell. The abalone will feel a bit slimy as it has been down in the sea for some years. For scrubbing you can use salt with a stiff brush or a scotchbrite pad. You have to scrub the shell as much as possible so that you will get something firm to hang onto. While scrubbing, work on most of the black membrane and get those off the shell of the abalone.
  2. For prying the whole abalone from its shell, you have to use any blunt thin tool like a wooden spatula. Also you can preferably do this prying process in a sink to make the clean up easier afterwards. You will find the abalone attached to its shell through a solid round muscle at the bottom and other parts of the abalone will be just clinging to the shell. Enter and work the spatula between the abalone and it shell till the abalone is detached. During this process, you have to ensure that the abalone is kept whole and the tool is pushed hard against the shell rather than the abalone.
  3. Slide the abalone out after prying it from its shell. You can use the shell for decorative purposes after scrubbing it clean and drying it with air.
  4. Now hold the main body part of the abalone so that the viscera (guts) are hanging down. Cut the viscera off using a sharp knife. Now discard the viscera and keep the main body of the abalone for further processing.
  5. Now you can scrub or cut the abalone from sides to clean off. But is better to scrub the black film off along the sides of the abalone as it will preserve more meat by cleaning off easily.
  6. Now use the sharp knife to cut off the curled edges (lips) and pointed end of the abalone. Discard these pieces and you will get a whole abalone.
  7. Now you can consume the clean and whole abalone raw or cut it into small pieces to make some dish of your taste. While cooking the abalone you have to cook the sliced pieces hot and fast. If you delay the cooking it will be tougher for you to cook the abalone.

8. Now its time for some real action. Rinse the spot with cool water. You may repeat the process, if needed.
9. Another method is to apply a mixture of 1/4 teaspoon mild liquid dish soap in one cup warm water. Thoroughly saturate the stain and allow the solution to react for at least 5 minutes. The surfactants in the detergent will help to lift the rust particles.
10. Blot the stain with a clean white cloth or paper towel and rinse it with cool water.
11. Repeat this process until the stain is removed or until no more discoloration is picked up by the cloth.
12. Thoroughly rinse the spot with water to remove all traces of cleaning solution.
13. If the problem of the rust stain still persists then saturate the stain with a solution of 2 tablespoons ammonia in 4 cups warm water.
14. Blot the spot with a white cloth or paper towel.
15. Rinse the spot with cool water.
16. For carpeting or upholstery, layer clean cloths or paper towels over the spot to remove any moisture.
Thus by using very minor household ingredients rust stain from clothes etc, can very easily be removed.
