3. Spend Time with Your Kids – It is a fact that we give maximum attention to things which have the highest priority for us. It is fair if you take some time out from your busy schedule at least once a week to do something with them or attend some event which is important for them.
4. Learn to Praise them – The kids feel very happy when their father praises them or makes them feel worthwhile. The mother is more of a friend but the father is a philosopher and guide and it does mean a lot when he showers praises on the kids. In the same way, children get very disturbed when the father abuses them in any way or calls them bad names. It hurts them deeply which may also affect their behaviour later on.
5. Don’t be Afraid to Admit You Are Wrong – Just because you are a father does not mean you can’t make mistakes. And kids will understand and respect you more when you admit that you were wrong instead of stubbornly trying to prove your point. They will love you more for being humble enough to accept your fault.
6. Show Your Love – There is nothing wrong in demonstrating your affection for your kids. Your kids will feel happy and secure to see you love them so sincerely. Don’t think that if you show them your tender side they will take advantage of you or take you for granted. On the other hand, when you tell them how much you love them from time to time, I will nurture their childhood and help them grow up to be loving adults.
