Building the tiki hut is not very difficult but you need to be creative and also excited to be able to do it. Let us see how the hut can be built in an easy way.

  1. First of all, decide how high the hut is going to be. Get four bamboo poles and cut them down to the height you want the hut to be. All the bamboo poles should be of the same height. Now think of the width of the hut. Cut another three bamboo poles to that height. Now you have to decide the depth of the hut. Here you require 2 poles of the same depth to be cut.
  2. Now bring together two poles for the length and two for the depth. Make a rough rectangle of these poles. Use a screwdriver to secure the ends together with screws. Use enough screws so that the ends, the outer edge and the inner edge are all sturdy. You can pull to test the strength of the structure. Make sure that there are no bends in the frame and it stands straight.
  3. Besides the poles you have already cut, you need four more of equal length. Make the ends completely blunt. Now you need to stick another pole into one corner of the frame so that the pole is held at an angle. Use screws to secure again. Use the other three poles on the other three corners of the frame and secure with screws too. There must still be another length pole which should support the frame at its very center. All the angled poles will meet at this point. Screw in the central pole with all the rest that meet here. The frame is now ready with slanted sides.
  4. Make a cut on the inner edges of both the lower frame and the top length pole. If you have the custom made thatched palm panel ready, then slide them into the cut edges. Bring the silk leaves too. Tie each of these leaves and tie them to the top of the cover. When you tie all the leaves to the central pole, they will all hang down evenly on all sides. The whole cover should be covered with leaves in this way.
  5. You will need people to help you lift up the cover with the help of a height poles supporting one corner of the covering. The height pole can now be screwed in to the almost finished tiki hut. You must have three more height poles and you can repeat the above procedure to get the right structure.

Your tiki hut is now ready and you can take shelter in it during the hot summers. And when the sun goes down, you can plan a barbecue with your friends in this cool place.

In most organizations, the number of paid vacation days that accrue to an employee is generally a factor of the number of years of the employee’s service in the company and his hierarchy level. Companies generally use a formula that allots specific hours accrued for every pay period, based on the time employed with the company. You can use the below guidelines to calculate the holiday pay entitlement for your employees.

  • Paid Time off (PTO) policy has become a popular concept with many companies. Under the PTO policy, companies offer a single pool of days to their employees, instead of separately allocating between vacation leave, personal leave and sick leave. Employees are allowed to draw from this bank of days, as and when required for any purpose.
  • Determine the number of vacation days. You can use industry available data to find out the standard number of vacation days. For example, employees with 1-2 years of service may receive an average of 10 vacation days, while employees with 10 or more years of service might qualify for an average of 20 paid holidays every year.
  • Fix an accrual policy, whereby employees can accrue leave based on their years of service. For a new employee, vacation accrual could start from the first day of employment, but be utilized only after completing a certain period of service. You could either use the calendar year for accruing vacation days for your employees or the actual employment start date. Unused vacation days may be rolled over from one year to the next, with a cap specified on the maximum number of days that could remain in the bank at any point of time. This is beneficial for employees, as they do not lose the time accrued and not utilized, when a year ends. Decide on the parameters for granting an additional day or week of vacation time. For example, most full-time workers in the US have to render five or more years of continuous service to earn an additional week of vacation.
  • Calculate PTO accrual, which could be on an hourly or day basis. For example, for an employee who is entitled to 10 vacation days during a year (52 weeks), leave will accrue at a rate of 0.1923 days (10/52) for every week of completed service. At the end of an employee’s service period, he is paid the PTO accrued in his account. Where an employee has overdrawn his PTO balance, i.e. used PTO time not yet accrued, the excess PTO availed is deducted from his paycheck.
