It may be a great occasion for your friends to enjoy themselves, getting involved in a number of activities on stage. This may be a great source of attraction for you and other people sitting glued to their seats in front of the stage. But before you have fun, you must go through the procedure for creating a backyard stage first. Get to know what is required for the stage and then construct it.

The stage that we are about to build is 16 feet wide, 8 feet deep and 2 feet tall. For constructing this, you need to start with an 8”x2”x4” and 7’9”x2”x4” boards. Place them on their sides and perpendicular to each other. Arrange the boards so that the shorter one slightly butts into the longer one. Two screws will be needed to fasten the joint. Bracing the joint is the next step which can be done by inserting one 4”x4” leg into the corner and screwing it to the 2”4” side of the two boards.

Then it is time to go to the other side of the shorter board and screw in another 8”x2”x4” board. This should also be perpendicular to the shorter board. Then fasten the joint and attach the leg.

The middle two corners come next in the sequence of construction. This is expected to be right in the center of the stage after the construction is complete. Place a 4”x4” post to one end of the longer board which is free. Leave half the width of the 4”x4” lying past the 2”x4”. This will connect to the part protruding from the part created from the other side. 2 screws can fix the leg now. You can now repeat what you have done on the other side of the stage.

Get hold of the middle two legs and brace them. Another 7’9”x2”x4” board will come of use now. It will be attached to the side of the legs between the two <img

Two screws are enough for each joint.

Repeat all the above steps to construct a replica. Connect both of them together to form a rectangle of sides 8 feet wide and 16 feet long.

Use 14 more 7’9”x2”x4” boards to construct the floor. Place them at a distance of 1 foot from each other. The front and back of the stage would be strengthened by screwing in two more screws so that it stays in place.

Now that the stage is complete, flip it up so that it is now in the correct position. Place it in the backyard and then attach the floor. Lay sheets of plywood to create the floor. Align them properly and screw them up to make them fit into their positions. Use screws liberally to strengthen the stage.

Now that you have your stage ready, you can perform any number of plays in it. Let your children also showcase their talents by performing there. It will surely be something you will be proud of making.

Learn more about:<ul
