  3. Get a floor tom. It is basically a smaller-sized drum that is used for producing a low, but bass-heavy noise. It is often used by drummers to provide a steady beat during songs. In a drum set, this is placed on the right side of the drummer.
  4. Make arrangement for a tom tom .It comprises two bigger drums that produce a deep, loud noise when struck. In a drum set, tom tom is placed just above the snare (or main) drum.
  5. Get a bass. This will add versatility to your musical instrument. Generally placed in front of the drummer, it will help you create extremely loud, low notes. This can actually be used to accentuate songs of different genre and styles.
  6. Now get the main piece of the set, get a snare. Placed right in front of the drummer, snare is a vital part of a drum set that is a drummer uses most of the times.
  7. Get a hi-hat. It comprises two cymbals on a stand with a pedal at the bottom. It helps the drummer to make a “crash” noise with their foot whenever required. In a drum set, hi- hat is placed where it is easiest and comfortable for the drummer to use with foot.
  8. Now put all the parts together. In case you choose the individual stands, then a high-hat stand, a snare stand, stands for each cymbal and tom arms will be required. But if you choose the rack, then you will need a high-hat and snare stand. However, apart from these two varieties, for others you will need pipe clamps that are often included with the purchase of a rack.
