But there is way to create an apt storage space for all these items. By stealing few feet from the end of a room, you can create an enclosure that will provide you with tons of storage space.
Closet is the perfect enclosure that allows you to keep your things in an organized way.
How your closet is built will determine how useful it is. If you want a closet for yourself but do not know how to go about it, then here are some instructions that will guide you in building a closet:
Instructions
- Firstly, decide about the design of the closet. Prepare a layout of the closet that you want to build. Also make sure that while preparing the blue print of the closet, you take into consideration electrical and plumbing aspects that are very essential for smooth building process.
- Once you have the layout and all the required tools for the construction, get started with the process. Take measurements to determine how much material you will need. Whether you go for a wood or a metal closet system, measurements are very important that affect the resultant or finished product.
- Build the closet frame. You can construct the frame either by building the walls flat on the floor and then raising them up into required position, or simply build them in place.
- For building the closet frame, plug in your air hose, compressor and air gun and load them with 1½- to 2-inch brad nails. Now install all the 1-by-4 boards on the wall to each stud marks made on the wall.

- Carefully cut the shelf material as per the design and nail it to 1-by-4 stringers by using 1¼-inch brad nails and then screw the rod cup holders into the side stringers. This will create the support for the shelves and the rods.
- Now trim the closet as per the desired length. Install it into the cup holders. Mount the rod support brackets in the closet. Leave some space between each support, preferably 3 feet. While installing these brackets, make use of 1½-inch screws.
- Now your closet is done. Go to organize it with your stuff.
Tips to Remember
- If you want an increased hanging space, then you can adjust the closet rods to allow 2 bars on the same wall.
- It is always better to mark your studs on the wall to ensure no damage is caused to your plumbing, air conditioning lines or electrical wiring.
